The founder's story
From the radar room to your server room.
Our philosophy has roots in Troy's military service. The first Navy ship he served on was the USS Robert E. Peary, named for the relentless polar explorer whose most celebrated line was, "I'll find a way, or make one."
That mentality of discipline, doggedness, and determination still informs how we work. After eight years in the Navy and a decade building IT in the medical device industry, Troy founded SOL-I.S. in 2009 to give businesses world-class expertise on a local scale.
Seventeen years later, the standard has not changed. We function as an integral part of your team, your virtual IT department, providing cybersecurity, managed IT, cloud, virtualization, and consulting to organizations that rely on technology.

Troy Solis
Founder & CEO
Troy started his career as a radar and radio electronics technician in the U.S. Navy, working on systems where failure was not an option. After eight years of service he moved into the medical device industry, advancing from R&D electronics into IT management and consulting. He founded SOL-I.S. in 2009 to bring that same discipline to businesses that depend on technology.
Cindy
Office Manager
Office Manager since 2013, Cindy leads customer service, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. She is most likely the first helpful voice you will hear when you call, and the go-to person for any billing question. Her customer service depth comes from years in the travel industry.
Alex
Senior Systems Engineer & Project Lead
Alex specializes in Windows, Azure AD, and security, and has been a systems engineer since before the Y2K problem. He makes customer service his priority, always asking what kind of service he would want to receive if he were the customer.
Vicki
After-Hours Technician
An asset to the team since 2014, Vicki works evenings to handle configuration changes, cybersecurity implementations, upgrades, and longer troubleshooting, so the work that takes time causes the least interruption for clients.
Brenda
Operations & Consulting
Brenda joined in 2020 to build long-term strategy, processes, and accountability into SOL-I.S., and provides those same consulting services to clients who want to run their own operations with more discipline.
